BENEFITS OF COB LED LIGHTING

Instead of using one single light source, COB LEDs can be spaced for better uniformity in order to avoid hotspots or low intensity areas in the grow room. A practical example would be that instead of having one big 600W HID fixture that would create a hotspot, we could have 6 COB LEDs producing the same amount of light, while consuming less and providing a way better spread.

COB chips can produce a large amount of lumens with less energy which will give you bigger yield with less energy costs. Comes in very large sizes for commercial grow ops, Very low power consumption. These lights have a full spectrum output that is more similar to natural sunlight than the red, blue and purple LEDs that you usually see in grow rooms.

HOW MUCH CAN I SAVE USING COB LED LIGHTS?

The introductory price of using COB LEDs in an indoor garden is initially higher, but they pay themselves off in the long term due to several advantages. Even if the initial investment is higher, a quality LED fixture will last AT LEAST 30,000 hours. So it’ll pay itself off over time.

COB LEDs consume less power, run cooler and have a much longer life span then regular lighting depending on the control circuitry. They have a flatter light spread and a directional beam which means you don’t have to use reflectors and you won’t be wasting any light.

Just 3 COB LED lights arranged in a flat panel can cover an area over 3m x 3m with a lumen output of about 600 watts of power consumption compared to the same output of other lamps consuming 1500-2000 watts.

LED vs HPS

WHAT KIND OF YIELD CAN I EXPECT USING COB LED LIGHTING?

COB lights can produce as high as 1 to 1.5 grams per watt. Compared to a 600w HPS light that can produce up to 150 to 300 grams. Think that LEDs cause fluffy buds? Think again. Some strains naturally produce a fluffy but structure, but poor quality lights can also play a role. When combined with optimal soil or hydroponic mediums,LED systems have a reputation for coaxing out heavenly terpenes and producing impressive flowers.
